No. Sunshine Pediatrics is a membership-based primary-care practice. Your family pays us directly for pediatric care instead of running everything through an insurance company. It is not insurance, and it does not cover hospitalization, specialty care, or emergencies.

Yes. We strongly recommend every family maintains health insurance for hospitalizations, specialists, imaging, ER visits, and surgeries. Direct Primary Care covers everything that happens in our practice; insurance covers everything outside of it.

We coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up as part of your membership. Labs drawn in our office are billed to you at deeply discounted wholesale pricing (typically a fraction of insurance rates). Imaging and hospital care are billed to your insurance in the usual way.

Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. No long-term contract, no cancellation fee. We'll help transfer records to your child's new provider so nothing falls through the cracks.

Yes. Every family is welcome here, whether you vaccinate on schedule, on a delayed schedule, or not at all. We'll have an honest, respectful conversation about your choices, and then we'll take excellent care of your child either way.

Birth through age 21. Once a young adult is settled into college or work life, we'll help them transition smoothly to adult primary care.

You'll have Lauren's direct number. For non-emergencies, call or text anytime and you'll hear back quickly. For emergencies, please still call 911 or go to the nearest ER, we'll follow up with you the next morning.
